Adrienne Johnson - Director

Adrienne has been in early childhood education for almost 20 years. She has a degree in Elementary education from DePauw University and a masters degree in Early Childhood Leadership and Advocacy from National Louis University. After 9 years teaching in District 70, she turned her focus to preschool. LCNS holds a special place in her heart, as she is a graduate, former LCNS parent and board member, teacher and now our new director. She is proud to be part of an early childhood program that fosters exploring and learning through play. Adrienne comes from a whole family of educators and currently has two children that attend school in District 70.

Brooke Adams

Brooke Adams is our MWThF 4/5s teacher and our Tuesday AM Kaleidoscope teacher. She grew up in Libertyville from the age of 8 and attended Butterfield, Highland, and LHS. Brooke attended Eastern Illinois University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. After college, she was a second grade teacher for five years at Woodland Elementary School and she was the poms coach at Libertyville High School for 6 years. Her favorite thing about teaching: the kids! She now lives with her husband and twin son and daughter in Libertyville.

Jackie Axelson

Jackie Axelson is our Intro to Kaleidoscope (3s) teacher on Tuesday mornings. She has an Elementary Education degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign/Urbana and a Masters in Reading from Benedictine University. Jackie has a son and daughter that attend school in District 70 and another son that attends the 4/5s class at LCNS.  In addition to spending time with her family, she loves to travel and read.

Sandy Bean

Sandy Bean has been a teacher at LCNS for over 30 years! She has an art education degree from Southern Illinois University and an early childhood degree from CLC. Sandy teaches the MWF 4s program. She believes children learn best by the “hands on” method. Both of her sons attended LCNS and she loves spending time with her grandchildren and riding her bike.

Jeri Berlowski

Jeri Berlowski is the lead teacher in the 2's program. Jeri holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Purdue University. She also attended Rockland, Highland, and Libertyville High School. Jeri has 2 boys both of who attended LCNS starting in the Young 3s Program and finishing with the Young 5s. When she has free time she enjoys spending it with her family and 2 dogs.

Jori Gebert

Jori Gebert is in her 5th year of lead teaching at LCNS. This year she will teach the MWF 4s Extended Day program. She has a BA in Elementary Education from National Louis University, and previously taught elementary school. Her teaching approach includes learning through movement and play, and educating the whole child. Jori lives in Libertyville with her husband and two sons, ages 14 and 17. She loves to read, craft and bake. She spends time with her family at their many activities and at their cabin in northern Wisconsin.

Tammy Hansen

Tammy Hansen is returning to LCNS as an aide in the Kindergarten Readiness 4/5s and 2s programs. Previously, she taught a Kaleidoscope Class and has substituted for our aides and teachers on occasion. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from East Carolina University. Tammy has a daughter at Xavier University and a son at Libertyville High School. In addition to spending time with her family, Tammy enjoys working in the garden, walking and reading books.

Courtney Johnston

Courtney Johnston is our Aide in the MWF 3s & TTh 3s classrooms. She has her M.A.Ed in Early Childhood Education from National-Louis University. Courtney previously taught Kindergarten and preschool for 10 years on the North Shore. She now lives in Libertyville with her husband, 8 year old son, and their dog, Stanley! 

Ann Klaess

Ann Klaess has been our Office Manager for 19 years. She received a degree in Psychology from the University of Dayton and a Master’s in School Psychology from Emporia State University in Kansas. Both of her boys attended LCNS and Ann served on the Board. One of the best parts about her job, she says, is coming to school in the morning and seeing the children who are so genuinely happy to be there. In her free time, Ann likes to cook, garden, read and take car trips all over the country with her husband.

Stephanie Nepomuceno

Stephanie is a first year staff member at LCNS. She assists in our MWF extended day 4s program and in the Right-Brain Kaleidoscope class. Stephanie has a degree in Elementary education from Loyola University of Chicago. After working many years in a corporate recruiting role and being a full-time mom, she is excited to promote creativity in a play-based, child- centered learning environment.  Stephanie is a previous LCNS parent. Her three children now attend Libertyville schools, where she actively volunteers. In her free time she enjoys traveling, cooking, art, gardening and spending time with family.

Lisa Sefton

Lisa Sefton has been the Treasurer for over 10 years. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Monmouth College in Monmouth, IL. Both of her children attended LCNS and she served on the Board. In her free time she enjoys crafts and looks forward to her family vacations along the beach.

Nicole Sesi

Nicole Sesi is our Aide in the T/Th 3’s classroom. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Wayne State University.  Nicole worked as a nurse in Michigan for 13 years before moving to Libertyville with her family in 2010.  Both of her children attended LCNS. Nicole has previously served as a board member, substitute classroom Aide and Aide in the MWF 4’s program at LCNS.  Outside of LCNS, Nicole loves spending time with her family, traveling, reading and baking.

Robin Sherman

Robin Sherman is an aide in our MWF 3's program.  She received her BA degree in Journalism from The Ohio State University.  Robin has been a flight attendant with Southwest Airlines for 25 years!  She has three children that all attend Libertyville schools, where she volunteers actively.  Robin spends most of her free time shuttling her children from their many activities. 

Amy Snow

Amy is our aide in the 4s Extended Day class. She has a B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and worked as a pharmacist for over 10 years before taking time off to raise a family. She relocated to Libertyville in 2013 with her husband and 4 children. She was a previous LCNS parent, as her youngest son attended when she first moved here. Having taught several years of religious education, Amy is happy to be in an LCNS classroom!

Stacey Weier

Stacey Weier is in her 3rd year as a lead teacher in our MWF 3s classroom. Stacey has her Associates in Arts with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education from the College of Lake County. Stacey believes that each child is unique and strives to create an environment where her students can learn from many different learning styles. She believes wholeheartedly in play based learning and can't wait to create exciting learning opportunities for her students. Stacey lives in Antioch IL with her husband Doug and daughter Josie.

Nikki York

Nikki is our aide in the 4s MWF class and the Tuesday Kaleidescope class. She has a B.S. in Finance from the University of Illinois and worked in commercial lending for 10 years before taking time off to raise a family. When her daughter entered elementary school, she began substitute teaching and ended up working as a Math Aide in her elementary school. She also taught Sunday School and was a VBS Director for 2 years.  In 2017, she relocated to Libertyville with her husband and daughter.  She is so excited to join LCNS this year!
